COMPONENT MOISTURE METER SYSTEM
With the T2000 you have one single measuring instrument with OPTIONAL interchangeable sensors for the many applications listed here.
 |
The T2000S builds a bridge between analogue and digital technology, and is one of the most flexible moisture meters available.
The professional solution for all building inspection, the heart of the T2000S is a
24-bit analogue/digital converter which supplies long term stable precision results which analogue instruments cannot achieve.
The digital technology of the “Serial-Digital-Interface” (SDI) opens up a new dimension in flexibility in measuring.
One port allows the connection of various sensors such as SDI dieletric or microwave for scanning wood/buildings materials, temperature/humidity etc. While the other connects a variety of probe electrodes using the resistance method for wood and building measurements. |
About 30 different sensors and electrodes are available and allow many different parameters to be measured.
It has a built in wood type menu option which allows selection of hundreds of different kinds of wood species. Choosing the correct wood species will give you better accuracy in your results. (most other brands are set for a particular type of wood of that manufacturers choosing and from there it is up to the end user to correct the values after taking a measurement).
Current temperature is displayed in the panel which is taken into consideration when calculating the moisture percentage in wood as temperature will affect readings. This can be adjusted even further using a temperature probe on the wood to give even better accuracy results. (most other brands are unable to take temperature of wood into account.)
An alarm can be set to activate at unacceptable reading levels.

NON INVASIVE DIELECTRIC SCANNING SENSOR
 |
The TS300 SDI sensor is used for fast, non invasive determination
of moisture content in areas at a depth up to 40mm from the surface.
Rapid detection, damp and dry wall and floor areas can be detected by permanent real time display of the measured values.
When connected to the T2000S an immediate evaluation of the measured data, minimum, maximum and average functions is available. An adjustable audible alarm can be set allowing the operator to work efficiently on audible tones only..
This sensor is ideal for locating moisture by scanning internal walls and ceilings of houses, apartments and buildings. |

NON INVASIVE MICROWAVE SCANNING SENSOR
 |
The TS350 SDI sensor is used for rapid non invasive measurement of sub-surface moisture content.
Using microwave technology it is possible to detect distributions of moisture content at a depth of up to 300mm. Another advantage of the method, in addition to the great measuring depth, is that it is not affected by the level of salt content present in the material. It therefore makes no difference to the microwave technique whether an older or a new building is being measured.
An advanced instrument for experienced building inspectors.
This sensor is ideal for locating moisture by scanning concrete, block and brick work. |

TEMPERATURE AND RELATIVE HUMIDITY SENSOR

|
The TS200 SDI sensor is used for determining the relative humidity and temperature within a room.
It can also measure the relative humidity in the process of curing concrete, when inserted a drilled hole or cavity.
(See images on left)
The TS200 has a diameter of 12mm and can measure a
temperature range of -20 ° C and +70 ° C and a relative humidity range of 0.0 to 98%.
When connected to the T2000S, it can measure:
- Relative humidity
- Absolute humidity
- Air temperature
- Dew point tempertaure
When reporting on moisture problems in houses these are some of the factors that should be taken into consideration and reported.
This sensor is ideal for recording the relative humidity in the process of curing concrete floors, prior to being covered, monitoring and analysising humidity and tempertature in houses, apartments and buildings. |

NARROW TEMPERATURE AND RELATIVE HUMIDITY SENSOR

|
The TS240 SDI sensor performs similar tasks as the TS200 SDI excluding concrete and material readings.
When connected to the T2000S, it can measure:
- Relative humidity
- Absolute humidity
- Air temperature
- Dew point tempertaure
The diameter of the TS240 however is smaller and longer (4mm diameter x 250mm length) so it is the ideal sensor to use for measuring relative humidity inside of wall and ceiling cavities.
This sensor is ideal for monitoring and analysising humidity and tempertature inside wall cavities of houses, apartments and buildings. |

SLIDING HAMMER ELECTRODE

|
The TS70 sliding hammer probe (resistance method) is fitted with 60mm hardened steel needle probes with insulated shafts for taking gradient readings in timber.
When connected to the T2000S it allows timber framing to be checked for moisture content before cladding is applied. Some framing timber in New Zealand is now coated with some chemical treaments such as ‘Boron’ which will give those moisture meters which only have very short non insulated probes that test at the surface very high readings.
To get the correct results the probes should be hit deeper into the timber and with insulated probes this will help to eliminate the false high readings. (beware some timber could be soaked) The hammer requires the TC20 cable and 60mm insulated probes.
This probe is ideal for locating moisture in timber framing. |

HAND ELECTRODE

|
The TS60 has a tough handle with 2 two hexagon union nuts in which electrode pins m) can be inserted. This is ideal for measurement of moisture in cut timber or wooden board materials (chip board or fibre boards) and measurement of moisture in soft materials such as plaster or rough cast mortar. There are four different length pins available:
20mm, 25mm, 40mm and 60mm.

DEEP WALL PROBES

|
A full range of insulated and non-insulated electrodes are available to fit the T2000S.
Diameters of the probes include 2mm, 4mm & 7mm, and they are designed for specific moisture measurement in concealed areas.
Where the shaft needs to be insulated, the TS12 probes are recommended as the absence of insulation would falsify the result. These are avaiable in 200mm and 300mm lengths.
The most frequent use is the determination of moisture distribution of multilayered wall or ceiling structures such as multilayered walls.
This range of probes are ideally used to locate moisture deeper into the material (i.e. walls and ceilings) at depths of up to 200 and 300mm.

SURFACE TEMPERATURE SENSOR

|
As the temperature of the surfaces like wood will effect moisture readings the TS130/150 surface temperature sensor allows the TS2000S to automatically corerct the temperature of the surdface being measured.
When combined with probes for measuring the % of moisture in timber framing and other types of wood, the correct wood moisture content will be displayed.
The T2000S has it’s own temperature sensor built in which displays on the screen and is further adjusted when the TS130/150 is connected.
This sensor is ideal for attaining the temperature of a wide range of the surfaces. |

HOT WATER & LIQUIDS TEMPERATURE SENSOR

|
The Trotec TS110/150 sensors are designed to measure the temperature when it is immered or submersed into the material.
The sensor can be inserted into a sink full of hot water. This allows the operator to determine the temperature of the hot water cyclinder in a house, apartment or building
.
Other uses include monitoring the temperature of bulk stock piles of materials like compost, fertilisers and sands.
This sensor is ideal for attaining the temperature of hot water from cylinders and material stockpiles. |

AIRFLOW & TEMPERATURE SENSOR

|
The TS460 SDI sensor connects to the T2000S to determine air velocity.
This combination makes for the ideal airflow meter.
It also simultaneously measures the air temperature making it suitable for the distribution, air flow and maintenance of air conditioning systems.
When connected to the T2000S, an immediate evaluation of the measured data, minimum, maximum and average functions is available. The Hold mode locks the measured value on the screen allowing the operator to see the information if the screen not viewable.
The TS460 SDI sensor has a airflow measuring range of 0 - 20m/s.
This sensor is ideal for measuring airflow and temperature in air conditioning systems. |
