PROFESSIONAL PROBE SYSTEM
IDEAL FOR USE ON TIMBER FRAMING
Timber Moisture mode
The T500 is a professional hand-held probe resistance measuring instrument for the precise determination of the moisture content of wood and is better suited than any other instrument in its class for measurement checks in timber framing before cladding is applied.
Building Moisture mode
It detects the moisture content of soft building materials such as gypsum or plaster using the resistance method.
Built in Timber type selection menu The T500 features a built-in timber menu option that allows the selection of hundreds of different types of wood needed as moisture readings differ for wood species. Most other moisture meters are set up for only 1 type of wood and a table must then be used to manually correct the readings.
Built in Temperature compensator
As the temperature of the wood affects the moisture readings in timber the T500 allows the user to input the temperature into the unit to automatically correct the readings. Most other moisture meters are only setup for 1 temperature then tables and curves must be used to manually correct the readings.
Hold mode The unit features a hold mode to freeze the current measurement on the display when removing the probes from the timber.
Additional probes
The unit has built in probes but additional probes can be connected to the unit such as the T500H hammer as per the secton below.

Trotec T500H
PROFESSIONAL PROBE SYSTEM
IDEAL FOR USE ON TIMBER FRAMING
The T500H system is an optional hammer probe that allows the operator to correctly and accurately detect moisture content at various depths in timber. Probes attached to moisture meters only allow surface readings but the hammer hits the probes into various depths.
The T500H consists of a heavy-duty sliding hammer probe with 2 x 60mm probes and cables with adaptors. It is connected to the T500 unit.
Using the resistance method of measuring, the hammer probe pins are made of hardened steel which are Teflon coated. Most of New Zealand’s new timber production is now treated with several preservatives. The insulated coating can help reduce the effect that treatments have on moisture meter readings if the treatment has not soaked through the timber, by eliminating erroneous surface measurement.
This instrument accesory is ideally suited to builders and inspectors for use in checking moisture content in timber framing.

PROFESSIONAL SCANNING SYSTEM
Dielectric scanning mode
The T650 is a professional hand-held instrument for fast, nondestructive determination of moisture content in areas
at a depth of up to 40mm from the surface.
Damp and dry wall and floor areas can be detected by permanent
real time display of the measured values.
For an immediate evaluation of the measured data, minimum,
maximum and average functions are available. In addition the
current measured value can be retained by means of the hold
function. Since the instrument’s screen can display two values, for
purposes of results evaluation a function value can be displayed
at the same time as the current measured value if required.
The T650 has an alarm function. An individual limit value is
entered into the unit before any measurements are taken. In this
way large wall or floor areas can be measured quickly and effectively.
As soon as the pre-defined alarm limit value is exceeded, the alarm sounds.

PROFESSIONAL SCANNING SYSTEM
Microwave scanning mode
The T600 is a professional hand-held instrument for rapid nondestructive
measurement of sub-surface moisture content.
By means of microwave technology it is possible to detect
distributions of moisture content at a depth of up to 300mm.
Another advantage of the method, in addition to the great measuring
depth, is its independence from the level of salt content present
in the material. It therefore makes no difference to the microwave
technique whether an older or a new building is being measured.

PROFESSIONAL TEMPERATURE & HUMIDITY SYSTEM
Temperature & Humidity mode
The instrument enables rapid and accurate determination of air temperature and relative humidity. Both parameters are displayed simultaneously in real time on the easy-to-read display. Ideal for room humidity and concrete floors.
Dew Point mode
In the DP mode as soon as the temperature is below the dew
point temperature an alarm sounds together to alert the operator.
Laser thermometer mode
In the IR mode you can use the T250 as a laser pyrometer for
surface temperature measurement with measurement location
marking.

This instrument is ideally suited to :
- conrete floors - determining the relative humidity in the process of curing concrete before a timber or surface floor is put down over the concrete.
- measuring the relative humidity inside of the walls in apartments, homes and buildings.
- room humidity
- attaining the air temperature and pressure in a certain environment.
