The Trotec T650 is an extremely popular, easy to use, "general purpose" non invasive moisture meter.
Manufactured in Germany, the Trotec T650 is used for locating moisture problems in homes and building materials such as timber/wood, gib board, concrete etc.
Simply hold the T650 against the wall, timber or concrete and the unit will scan (using the capacitance method), up to 40mm from the surface.
Where moisture is located, the readings from the meter, which are displayed on the LCD, increase significantly. (Note: Metal also increases the readings of capacitance meters)
The T650 features a user settable alarm which will alert the user to high readings. For hard to view and reach postions, the "hold" function can be used to lock the reading on the LCD screen.

The Trotec T600 is an advanced investigation microwave non invasive moisture meter. An understanding of microwave signals and systems will aid in operation of this meter.
Used primarily by building surveyors and weathertightness experts, the Trotec T600 is manufactured in Germany and used for locating moisture problems in solid construction buildings and floors, where the material thickness is greater than 100mm. (i.e. concrete)
When used in combination with the T650 (see above), the prescence and location of moisture can be determined at shallow or depth in the wall.
To operate the T600, simply hold it against the surface and the unit will scan (using a microwave sign wave), up to 300mm from the surface.
Where moisture is located in vast amounts, the readings from the meter, which are displayed on the LCD, increase.
The T600 features a user settable alarm which will alert the user to high readings. For hard to view and reach postions, the "hold" function can be used to lock the reading on the LCD screen.
Ideal for locating moisture deep in walls of solid construction homes, concrete floors etc.

The Protimeter Aquant from GE Sensing, is a simple non invasive moisture meter.
Manufactured in the United Kingdom, the Protimeter Aquant is used for locating moisture problems in homes and building materials such as timber/wood, gib board etc.
Simply hold the Aquant against the wall and the unit will scan (using the capacitance method), typically up to 19mm from the surface.
Where moisture is located, the readings from the meter, which are displayed on the LCD, increase significantly. (Note: Metal also increases the readings of capacitance meters)
The Aquant has the added functionality of an LED light scale. The lights will indicated green (for dry), yellow (for damp) and red (for wet).
As the readings increase on the Aquant, the frequency of the beep tone will increase to a constant solid tone for very wet readings.

The Protimeter Surveymaster from GE Sensing, is a popular dual function
non invasive PLUS probe moisture meter.
It features the same non invasive functions as the Aquant (see above) with the addition of a probe mode for measuring the % of moisture.
Simply hold the Surveymaster against the wall and the unit will scan (using the capacitance method), typically up to 19mm from the surface. (Note: Metal also increases the readings of capacitance meters)
Once the area has been located for measuring, switch the mode on the Surveymaster to the pin/probe mode (WME), and measure the % of moisture.
For deeper readings, the Survemaster comes standard with a pair of deep wall probes, which can be plugged into the side of the unit.

The Carrel & Carrel C301 is a programmed timber non invasive moisture meter.
It is designed to be used by timber/wood manufacturers and timber plants, to non-destructively measure the moisture content % of untreated radiata pine wood. (Note, if measuring "treated timber, the preservatives such as Boron H1.2 may cause variables to the readings of the C301)
Easy to use, simply hold the C301 flat against the timber and the unit will scan (using the capacitance method), up to 19mm into the timber.
It is ideal for locating moisture in pine furniture, kiln-dried timber etc.
Please note: This unit can only be used for house inspection if the meter can be placed directly onto the untreated radiata pine framework.
It is not suitable for scanning walls of homes, apartments, buildings.
