The David White 3185 is a fully automated self levelling single grade laser.

Many other lasers in its price range do not offer self leveling control whilst in grade mode, or are a horizontal laser with an added manual over ride system.

Simply set up the 3185 on a tripod, aligned in the direction of the grade, and then dial in the desired percentage on the LCD display.
If you do not know the % grade to be dialled into the 3185, the following calculation example will provide this for you:

amount of fall DIVIDED BY length x 100.
(e.g. 1meter fall divided by 500meters x 100 = 0.2%)

Grade on the 3185 is 0.01% increments from 0 to 2.5%, and 0.05% increments from 2.5 to 15%

The David White 3185 grade laser is commonly used in New Zealand by civil and roading contractors, earthmovers, pipe and drainage crews and farm drainage contractors.

With a long operating range of 850 meters, the David White 3185 is suitable for even the largest civil contracting sites.
